Must See Art Fairs and Festivals in Dallas and Fort Worth
If you missed our last installment, “Arts and Culture as a Catalyst for Growth in Dallas- Fort Worth”, I encourage you to give it a read here. In it, we discussed the rapid growth DFW is experiencing as the population continues to increase at an accelerated pace and businesses flock to the area. The vibrancy of the arts and culture sector is an influential factor in the migration to DFW as the sector enhances the quality of life and is proven to increase physical and mental health and foster close communities. As we discussed in Part I, Dallas and Fort Worth have a robust and vibrant arts and culture scene.
Dallas has proclaimed April as Dallas Arts Month. The cultural districts within the city host numerous events, including exhibitions, festivals, and performances showcasing an array of creative talent. Fort Worth also boasts several arts and cultural events throughout the month of April. As we approach the close of the month there are three spectacular events for art lovers happening in DFW worth sharing. And all three are happening this weekend!
Dallas Art Fair
The 15th edition of the Dallas Art Fair will run from April 20-23rd. It’s held in the Fashion Industry Gallery within the Dallas Arts District just one block southeast of the Dallas Museum of Art. This year the fair will host over 85 galleries from around the world. Its programming will include a VIP preview and a Foundation benefit, guest speakers, and off-site curatorial projects.

General Admission April 21-23rd 11:00 - 7:00PM (closes at 5:00PM on Sunday)

Fort Worth Main Street Arts Festival
The 36th edition of the Fort Worth Main Street Arts Festival offers plenty of entertainment and culinary delights along with over 200 juried artists from across the United States.

April 23rd 10:00 - 8:00PM
Artist booths close at 8:00PM April 20-22nd and 6:00PM on April 23rd.

Fort Worth Art Fair
Visit the 2nd annual Fort Worth Art Fair. The fair celebrates Fort Worth’s creatives by showcasing local artists.

Each of these events is located in the heart of their respective cultural districts. If you are eager to see more of what these two cities have to offer check out The Dallas Contemporary, Latino Cultural Center, Dallas Museum of Art, and the Dallas Theater Arts Center showing "Into The Woods" through April 30th at Wyly Theater. In Fort Worth, stop by the Kimbell Art Museum, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, and several locally owned art galleries including Fort Works Art and Bale Creek Allen Gallery.
