Robert Motherwell: Pure Painting

Celebrate the artistic legacy of Robert Motherwell (1915–1991) at the Modern Art Museum Fort Worth. Robert Motherwell: Pure Painting is the first exhibition in over a quarter-century to fully capture and examine the work of the artist who helped shape postwar art. Hosted by the Modern Art Museum Fort Worth, which includes over fifty works by Robert Motherwell in its permanent collection, curated by Susan Davidson, the showcase spans Motherwell's career. The exhibition explores Motherwell's abstract-figurative beginnings in the early 1940's and key series that define his artistic journey. This is a tribute to Motherwell's expansive sense of painting, an immersion into his evolution as a painter.
Exhibition dates: Through September 17, 2023
