Trespassers: James Prosek and the Texas Prairie | Amon Carter Museum of American Art

James Prosek has traveled across the state of Texas to document the plant and wildlife diversity. With less than 1% of native prairies left in Texas, the Amon Carter Museum brings to the viewer’s attention the beauty of Texas that must be preserved and protected. James’ work raises awareness of conservation of native prairies, depicting the flora and fauna he saw first hand in his travels. Working with watercolor and bronze sculptures, he raises broader questions about the boundaries that define Texas prairie spaces today.
