Bonnard's Worlds

Experience France's light and color through Pierre Bonnard's art. The Kimbell Art Museum presents its first-ever exhibition dedicated to Bonnard (1867–1947), inspired by their acquisition of his "Landscape at Le Cannet (1928)" in 2018. Bonnard drew inspiration from the natural landscapes, intimate interiors, and people he encountered in Paris, Normandy, and the French Riviera. His paintings, aglow with vivid colors and drenched in light, beckon us into these captivating worlds. "Bonnard's Worlds" is the first major Texas exhibition of his work in nearly four decades, featuring seventy of his finest paintings spanning his career. These works, some renowned and others rarely seen from private collections worldwide, transcend chronology and geography, offering an intimate journey through Bonnard's public and private realms.
