Wanda Gág’s World | The Whitney Museum of Art

A variety of prints by the artist, illustrator, and children's book author Wanda Gág are currently on display at The Whitney. These pieces capture the world as Gág saw it: a realm where inanimate items hum with life and landscapes move in a rhythmic manner. Although she painted, Wanda found that printmaking was the most effective way to convey her perspective.

"Drawn entirely from the Whitney’s collection, the works in this exhibition span roughly two decades, ranging from the mid-1920s to the year before Gág's death. Together, these still lifes, landscapes, and interiors illuminate what the artist called “Wanda Gág world,” demonstrating her fervent quest to capture the feeling and movement of life as she saw it." - The Whitney Museum of American Art

Exhibition Dates: Through December 2, 2024

Location: 99 Gansevoort Street, New York, NY 10014
