About The Artist
Allison Rietta (b. 1969) lives and works in Toronto, Canada. She is an abstract painter,
working predominately in watercolours and acrylics. Her paintings and collages explore
mystic geometry, symbols and patterns. Her work is informed by her 23+ years as a graphic
designer, and her spiritual practice of meditation and sound. Allison grew up in Toronto,
Canada, and has lived and worked in Germany, Italy, and the UK. She has exhibited in solo
and group shows in Toronto, New York and London, and has an upcoming duo show in
Utrecht, Netherlands. Three of her abstract watercolour paintings were featured in British
Vogue’s ‘Vogue Gallery’ print issues March, April and May 2022. Allison was longlisted for
the Jackson’s Painting Prize UK two years in a row, and most recently has been shortlisted
for the Visual Art Open 2023 UK and International Emerging Artist Award. The Holbrook
Danville has exclusively acquired Allison’s artwork for their new 42-room boutique hotel in
Danville’s Old West End District, VA, USA.
